Updates 2.05 b

I have just been compiling errata to make a 2.05b release- no system changes, just reordering and fixing the document.  Any last minute feedback and errata would be welcome!

I am making size 1 models have a to kill of 2.  Vulnerable have a to kill of 1.  Makes it MUCH easier to explain.

Also I am thinking of dropping longstrike as a stat, and making it a limited range version of shoot instead.  Thoughts?

Another topic I would like to discuss is the final 1st edition rule book, and whats going into it thats not in the playtest version.

Here are some thoughts...

  • More illustrations.  Its going to be pretty.
  • Bestiary of all your basic fantasy army stats, costed and ready.
  • Battle scenarios - classic vs, rescue, capture etc
  • More character abilities.
  • Machineries of war - large weapon rules, catapults, chariots etc.
Any other things you would like to see?

  1. • More illustrations.

Yes, please. Makes the whole thing look better. 40 pages of text only rules look like a fan made thing, illustrations make it look more professional.

    • Bestiary of all your basic fantasy army stats, costed and ready.

    Definately. This is basic stuff.

    • Battle scenarios - classic vs, rescue, capture etc

Also a must have imho. Just killing your opponent gets boring soon.

    • More character abilities.

Hm, not necessarily. Will it make the game better or just more complex?

    • Machineries of war - large weapon rules, catapults, chariots etc.

No, not for a skirmish game

  2. I think machineries of war could be fun - scenarios involving small parties of saboteurs assaulting the enemy's battery of stonethrowers in a siege situation would be good...

I think if the rules make them somewhat unwieldy so that small warbands aren't easily wiped out would be good - or maybe enhanced dodge stats against them?

Yes please to everything else already mentioned!

I assume all necessary tokens and spell cards will be included and maybe some portal templates, and discovered item cards too?

  3. Toootally.

I agree more abilities makes the game harder to learn. The problem with Malifaux, Warhammer and so forth is all the abilities acting as exceptions. Makes forming a strategy a headache.

How about siege weapons and additional abilities to the expansion, and instead I do more diagrams, examples, illustrations etc for the first one.

    Scenarios are a must.
All counters will be included, plus downloadable for free on the webby.
